History Of Travis Resmondo Sod
What is now Travis Resmondo Sod, Inc. began nearly 74 years ago when the Resmondo family acquired a five acre tract of land where the Miami airport now resides. This was where the Resmondo Sod farm evolved. By 1971, the Resmondo Sod Farm grew to become the largest sod production farm in the Everglades. Then in 1987, the decision was made to relocate and expand the business into the Central Florida area to better service the growing industry. The Resmondo family leased 972 acres along the fertile shores of Lake Kissimmee. Through honesty, hard work, and a great customer following, they grew into one of Florida’s finest turfgrass farms.
Following the footprints of his family, Travis Resmondo opened Travis Resmondo Sod, Inc. in 1992, a sod wholesale, retail sales, and installation company that located itself in Dundee, Florida. Due to the hard work and dedication of Travis Resmondo, what began as a small operation in central Florida has grown into a company that includes nearly 120 employees. Travis took the family business to new levels. In 2006, Travis made the decision to take over the complete sod farm operation. Today, Travis and his staff strive in the continuing effort to make Travis Resmondo Sod, Inc. a successful business and do so on the same business philosophy since day one: “Provide your customer with a superior turf product, quality service, all at a competitive price.”

Founder & President
Travis Resmondo is the active president of Travis Resmondo Sod, Inc. founded in 1992. Travis is responsible for the everyday direction and operation of the sod farm operations and the overall daily strategies of the Orlando, Tampa, and Polk County Retail locations. Travis has resilient dedication and an admirable business approach that few business owners can reach in their professional careers.
Travis is also a force to be reckoned with in the USSSA Men’s Major Slowpitch Softball League. He is the owner of ” Team Resmondo” who has been ranked as the winningest men’s major softball team in USSSA history. Winning 11 Men’s Major World Championships in the past 15 years.
