Bitterblue grass is an improved St. Augustine grass that has a finer, denser texture. Bitterblue has a darker blue-green color than the common St. Augustine. Bitter blue has a good cold tolerance. We are one of the few sod growers that can produce Bitterblue because of it’s poor tolerance to atrazine and other weed chemicals. Bitterblue can be used for residential homes, commercial applications, golf courses, and sports fields. Bitterblue is softer to touch then Floratam. It has a very good fall retention and spring green up.Bitterblue has an excellent wear and injury recovery rating.
