Common Bermuda Grass is a drought resistant versatile Bermuda grass. Common Bermuda Grass can grow in many different types of soils and can make a good turf if properly maintained and fertilized. Common Bermuda Grass is most commonly used along FDOT highways and roadways because of its excellent ability to recover after low water circumstances. Common Bermuda Grass is also used to help stabilize soil where runoff and wash out is a problem.

 

Common Bermuda Grass has a gray greenish color. Common Bermuda Grass has a very soft feel to touch with a blade width of 1.5 mm or larger. Common Bermuda Grass has an excellent fall color retention and spring green up rating. Common Bermuda Grass also demonstrates excellent wear and injury characteristics. Common Bermuda Grass has a good resistance to insect and diseases and a very good weed control ability.

 

Overall Common Bermuda Grass is used in a variety of areas. It is mainly used as a standard for FDOT and other municipalities to control washout and sloped areas. However, it is versatile enough to be used in home and commercial applications if maintained properly.
